This page is to collaborate on the executive management of a Bioinformatics movie made in collaboration with the CTI Digital Cinema group, the CTI Computer Science / Bioinformatics group and the Field museum. It is also meant as a record of that planning effort.

Technologies

• Dave sent the PDB to Hamzah. Hamzah will see about better rendering using Maya
• Postproduction will take a lot of time - especially on the high res after effects.
• Podcast is really easy. Just need to convert formats
• Green screen room at Lincoln Park is worthless. We'll use the one here.

Additional notes - 2007 Sep 29

• Scott reports:
  • Switcher is in and working.
  • Lighting needs to be tweaked.
  • Additional items needed (Scott discussed with Benny):
    • 6ft ladder
    • A large studio monitor on a high stand
    • An extra deck along with some long runs (25') BNC video cable- which we have
  • Scott wants Lou to follow up on this since Lou is producing.
  • A mirror to bounce the monitor image to the actor so screen direction will not be confusing.
    • We have them, Scott just made them and all we need is that, the mounting unit and a C-stand.
    • The system only can work from a tape deck to feed the background image.
      • There is no computer to feed the source through the switcher, so it has to be laid off to DV tape in whatever time length you wan
      • Then you will have to record that feed to another tape for reference
  • Noah Craigwell (MrCraigwell@hotmail.com) has tentatively agreed to do camera op
  • Scott suggests a grip or two for help
    • Someone (Lou?) need to contact Noah to lock him down
    • Someone (Lou?) also needs to see if Noah can find someone to grip with whom Noah would feel comfortable.

    • Coordinating with Jimmy Haiman for the costumes and props

    • Email Noah, as per Scott's suggestion, and go over his requirements in the way of help for the shoot

    • Keep everyone in the loop on progress and pitfalls via email
    • Go over the room with Noah next week as well.
