Installation Notes

• RJV - 10.26.06:
  • Installed Java 1.5 on z-login according to instructions on http://www.crazysquirrel.com/computing/debian/java.jspx
  • Installed Globus 4.0.3 in z-login:/usr/local/globus.4.0.3 with the the wsgram-pbs option
  • Setup SimpleCA^?:
    • Set email address for certificate request to be IBGSysAdmin^? at gmail
    • Used root password for PEM passphrase
    • Created and signed host certificate as detailed in http://www.globus.org/toolkit/docs/4.0/admin/docbook/ch07.html
• Major Updates! - RJV & RTM - 09.06.07
  • Successfully executed jobs from z-login to zlogin
    • z-appserver to z-login
    • GridFTP^? from z-appserver to z-login and vice versa
    • Indexing service/MDS on z-appserver with services registered from z-login
    • Enabled reporting of cluster usage via Ganglia through Indexing service
• Next steps:
  • Check prerequisites for OGCE
  • Plan to move webapps off of current tomcat install (to new OGCE container)
  • Enable OGCE services
  • Test portlets
